Inspired by Gippsland – Social Media update

Destination Gippsland’s Social Media Program focuses on stimulating conversations about Gippsland through key platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. Our Facebook  page focuses on showcasing beautiful and unique images from all over Gippsland. We mainly post user-generated content, which encourages fans to continue sharing their own stories and experiences on an ongoing basis.  Gippsland’s Instagram profile @VisitGippsland showcases the best shots from around Gippsland which are chosen from followers who upload and tag their photos with #inspiredbygippsland and #visitgippsland.  Our Twitter account @VisitGippsland highlights photos, updates and facts about Gippsland and our Pinterest  profile organises stunning photos from all around Gippsland into location and subject categories.

We understand visitors and businesses want to be part of our social media platforms. It is as simple as making sure you include our tags and handles in your own social media activity.  Over 48,000 people have used the hashtag #inspiredbygippsland and  #visitgippsland to engage with us.

How to join in our social media conversations by visiting and tagging:

  • Upload your photos directly from your business / region Facebook profile to the Inspired by Gippsland Facebook page and participate in fan conversations on our wall

What we are looking for when looking to feature fan photos

We are looking for the most inspiring, engaging, spectacular or eye-catching content to share with our fans. Most people look at their social newsfeed to get updates from family and friends, so the content that we post needs to be able to compete with that.  It also needs to look authentic and not appear to be too commercial.
