Think about your business from the customer point of view. What do you expect when you stay in accommodation? (I like to provide the extras which make an impression – scissors, bird seed, insect repellant, hats, books, board games, DVD’s as well as food for a snack on arrival)
I don’t like to ask for reviews. I have only 17 TripAdvisor reviews, but they are amazing and genuine, and I think are the best advertising to let propsective guests know what to expect.
Learn to say No to the myriad of requests you have to go on websites etc. Keep it Simple
Make sure your website has all the information a prospective guest will need, and encourage them to book on your website.
Become involved in your local and regional tourism associations. Take any opportunity to become better informed about your area and meet other operators.
