Gippsland a success at the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards

Angela awardsGippsland’s visitor economy was acknowledged and celebrated at the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards last night in Melbourne, cementing the region’s role as a leading destination in regional Victoria.

In a gala ceremony at Crown in Melbourne, the Gippsland region secured two Gold awards, two Silver and two Bronze awards.

Presented by the Victorian Tourism Industry Council (VTIC), the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards Gala event is the industry’s premier annual industry night, celebrating winners for their outstanding contributions to the industry.

Gippsland businesses were acknowledged in a range of categories that showcase the diversity of tourism experiences in our region.

Destination Gippsland CEO Terry Robinson said “the calibre of entrants from Gippsland has been outstanding, illustrating our industry’s professionalism and our commitment to delivering the best visitor experiences. We are also thrilled that several first time entrants were acknowledged in the awards”.

Gippsland’s award winners were:

Self-contained accommodation: Vivere Retreat, Bronze – Neerim South
Visitor Information Services: Finalist, Phillip Island and Bass Coast Visitor Services
Local Government Award for Tourism: Gold, Bass Coast Shire Council
Major Tours and Transport Operators: Silver, Bunyip Tours
Hosted Accommodation: Silver, Tallawarra Homestead – Tonimbuk
Adventure Tourism: The Summit, Bronze – Trafalgar East
Caravan and Holiday Parks: Big4 Inverloch Holiday Park, Gold – Inverloch
